Site Assessments (SAs)

BEC has conducted site assessments involving environmental impacts to soil, sediment, groundwater and surface water. Site assessments involve the collection of soil, groundwater, soil gas and/or surface water samples at sites with suspected or known contamination. The objective of a site assessment may be to determine the presence or absence of contamination (as defined by regulatory limits), or to determine the extent of such contamination. BEC uses both traditional site investigation methods, such as soil borings, test pits, monitoring wells, pumping tests, slug tests and soil gas analyses, coupled with state‑of‑the‑art procedures, such as Hydropunch/Geoprobe sampling and advanced geophysical techniques. Projects range from simple soil investigations to complex assessments of large sites with multiple contaminants affecting soil and groundwater.
