Aquifer Performance Testing and Groundwater Modeling
BEC has conducted aquifer performance testing to assess the impact of increased water usage as a result of building expansions. BEC employs both 2‑dimensional and 3‑dimensional groundwater models in order to predict changes in the extent and concentration of contaminant plumes, assess the effectiveness of various remedial design geometries, and to estimate cleanup schedules. BEC also uses AQTESOLV and other pump test models to calculate hydraulic gradient, safe yield, etc. BEC personnel have successfully performed capture zone modeling, contaminant transport analysis and other applications in complex groundwater regimes.
